Deye's SUN-SG01HP3 hybrid inverter family covers 5 kW single-phase to 50 kW three-phase in a single hardware line. Its DC input tolerates the 160–800 V window used by most European EV packs, which makes it one of the most common pairings with BMS-EV controllers.
What Deye hybrid inverters do. Deye SUN-SG01HP3 hybrid inverters combine PV MPPT, battery charge/discharge and grid-tie functions in one unit. Single-phase AM2 models (5–20 kW) accept 160–500 V DC on the battery port; three-phase BM3 models (29.9–50 kW) accept 160–800 V DC. Battery communication is CAN at 500 kbps using a Pylontech-derived protocol frame set. Compatible second-life packs include Tesla Model 3/Y, BMW i3, VW MEB (ID.3/ID.4/Enyaq), Nissan Leaf 62 kWh HV, and Hyundai/Kia E-GMP 400 V variants.
Deye Inverter Technology Co., Ltd. is a Chinese manufacturer based in Ningbo, in operation since 2007. Deye ships hybrid, on-grid and low-voltage inverters worldwide and is rebadged under Sunsynk (UK), Turbo-Energy (Spain) and Rhino (Africa). The SG01HP3 family is a hardware-common platform: firmware and DIP switch settings select single-phase or three-phase operation, EU or ROW grid codes, and battery communication mode. Deye publishes CAN frame documentation on request through its dealer network.

Deye SG01HP3 uses a CAN 2.0B bus at 500 kbps, terminated with 120 Ω. The frame set is Pylontech-derived: message IDs 0x35C, 0x35E, 0x351, 0x355, 0x356, 0x359, 0x35F. BMS-EV re-encodes the vehicle BMS data into these frames.

Heartbeat is 1 Hz. If the inverter loses CAN for more than 30 s it opens the battery contactor and displays fault F60/F61.
The BMS-EV controller sits on the CAN bus between the vehicle BMS (native protocol, typically 500 kbps) and the Deye battery port (Pylontech-frame 500 kbps). Two separate CAN segments, one bridge. The HV DC path runs directly from pack contactors through main fuse to the inverter battery input; the controller sequences precharge and main contactor closure on its 12 V control side.
Not without an intermediate controller. The Tesla BMS speaks a proprietary CAN protocol; Deye speaks a Pylontech-derived protocol. The BMS-EV controller bridges the two protocols and handles precharge, which Deye's battery port does not perform on its own.
500 V on the AM2 single-phase family, 800 V on the BM3 three-phase family. Charge target should be set 20–30 V below the ceiling to leave headroom for cell-imbalance transients.

Not through the single battery port. Two-inverter designs (one per pack) with a common AC bus are preferred for parallel installations. The BMS-EV controller does not currently support multiplexing two vehicle BMSes into one CAN emulator instance.
Deye opens the battery contactor after ~30 s of missing heartbeat and displays fault F60 (BMS communication lost) or F61 (BMS SOC out of range). The BMS-EV controller runs at 1 Hz heartbeat by default, well within margin.
Any main-board firmware ≥ 2.44 accepts the Pylontech frame set BMS-EV emits. Units shipped since mid-2023 are already at ≥ 2.44. If you buy used, verify with your dealer.
Yes. Priority is configurable: PV → Battery → Load → Grid, or PV → Load → Battery → Grid. Export limits are set per grid code.
