A complete electric vehicle battery pack retains 70–90% of its original capacity after 5–10 years of use. Instead of recycling, it can serve another 8–15 years as stationary storage — provided its original battery management system (BMS) is kept in place and safely bridged to a compatible hybrid inverter.
BMS-EV controllers ship pre-configured for a specific battery + inverter combination. The controller reads state-of-charge, cell voltages, temperatures, charge/discharge limits from the vehicle's original BMS over CAN, and reports them in the format expected by the hybrid inverter.
